What is Home Infusion?

Home infusion is the administration of medication through a needle or catheter.

Many medications can be safely received at home instead of having to travel to a clinic or hospital. These medications include antibiotics, chemotherapy, and treatments for chronic and autoimmune illnesses.

HealthQuest Infusion & Specialty is a state-licensed pharmacy that provides infusion services and specialty medication. Our staff of pharmacists, certified nurses, and other members of the home infusion team provide in-person assistance and 24/7 phone access.

How Do I Start Home Infusion and What Happens Next?

It’s easy! Contact your physician/prescriber about starting home infusion with HealthQuest Infusion & Specialty. Your prescriber will then contact us. These steps will follow after:

  • 1. A member of HealthQuest’s home infusion team will contact your insurance, Medicaid or Medicare provider to determine coverage for home infusion.
  • 2. A member of our home infusion team will call and explain your plan of care and what to expect during your home visit.
  • 3. The medication will be delivered to your home.
  • 4. A nurse will come to your home to assist with teaching you how to store and administer your medication, and care for your IV.

Members of the home infusion team will check on you frequently to see how you are doing, refill your medications, and schedule nursing visits. Our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to questions and concerns.
